Use any wood glue to apply, or standard double-sided tape may be used to apply to a smooth surface, while a thicker tape such as foam tape should be used on a textured surface. While 1/4" thickness is great for signs, it is not thick enough to stand up. Check out our 1/2" thick letters if you're looking for something that will stand on its own. Give them life with color How you decorate your letters is limited only by your imagination. For a simple process, use any spray paint to apply a couple of think coats of paint. Try using a colored felt tip pen to add some flair if you want additional decoration. Another option is to use a spray adhesive on the face of the letter, then place the letter face down on the backside of gift wrapping paper. Use an Exacto knife to cut around the profile of the letter and a felt tip pen to color the edges.
